Whilst some of us were lucky enough to sneak in a holiday over the last few years, many of us haven’t been on a sun-filled holiday since pre-pandemic 2019 times!!
So, now the world is finally opening up again with travel restrictions easing internationally and returning home to the UK being fully restriction-free, lots of us are jumping at the opportunity to finally book a much-needed escape!
Our swimwear collections have been hidden away for far too long! It’s time to book a hol and break out your fave swimming costumes, bikinis and hit the holiday shop girlies!
But where are Brits most keen to travel to? Are we staying close to home in Europe? Or are more and more people looking to treat themselves to a hol destination further afield after so much time being unable to travel?
We have done some digging to find out which holiday destinations people in the UK are searching for the most…
WHAT ARE THE TOP SEARCHED HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS?
We have looked at average monthly Google search volumes in the UK for ‘holiday’ keywords and have found which holiday destinations are the most popular.
Number #1 will be no surprise to anyone with Instagram - people cannot get enough of Dubai!
Joining Dubai in the top searched-for holiday position is the Maldives! People aren’t afraid of a long flight to get to their dream hol location after years of no holiYAYs.
Coming in joint second are a few places slightly closer to home! Holidays to Greece, Malta and Tenerife are firm faves for getting our tans on!
If heading to Greece for a beautiful holiday, you can’t go wrong with our aptly named Corfu frill triangle bikini and matching bottoms! Whether you are heading to the island of Corfu or anywhere else, this bikini will be your best friend!
Whilst Greece as a whole comes in second place, a couple of its stunning islands appear on our most searched for list too!
We see Mykonos at #10 and Santorini in at #6; we cannot get enough of Greece and its islands!
