By having regular bra fits you can ensure that you are wearing the right size bra that will leave you feeling more comfortable and confident in your lingerie.

Boux Avenue bra fitting appointments are flexible so don’t worry if you are running late, and with your personalised experience you can guarantee that you will receive the best one on one session that is not rushed to ensure you feel more comfortable in your new fitted lingerie.

Step 1: Assessing Your Current Bra

Keep your bra on. Your fitter will assess the following 4 key fit features in your current bra by eye and not tape measure, to be able to recommend your size in our Boux Avenue bras.

• Your current bra size
• Bust shape
• Fabric and style of the bra
• Customer preference - style, colour and fit

Step 2: Trying Styles That Suit Your Shape

Your fitter will advise you on a choice of Boux Avenue bras to try on, most suited to your bust shape and preferred style and then will ask you to try them on.

Bust shapes and recommendations:

• Bottom heavy - more rounded and heavier at the bottom. Best style: Balconette by lifting the bust and filling out the top.
• Close together - bust fuller on the inside and sit very close together. Best style: Balconette by helping to separate the bust.
• Separated - fuller at the outside, with the bust falling towards the sides of the body. Best style: Plunge as helps to pull the bust together.
• Top heavy - bust is more pointy. Best style: Padded as helps fill the gap underneath.
• Full/round - appear rounded with weight easily distributed. Best style: Any style.

Balconette and plunge style bras are the two most common and popular styles, but our advisors will also be able to help you with t-shirt, strapless and push-up style bras, perfect for those who want an extra boost.

Step 3: Perfecting the Fit - The 4 Boux Fit Checks

During the fitting experience with each bra that you try on our fitters will check the following four faithful features to ensure you are wearing the correct bra size:

• Underband
  • Horizontal across back
  • In line with wires
  • Snug but comfortable
  • Slightly pulls away from the body, but feels like it is pulling back into place.
• Straps
  • Adjusted in length to be taut but not digging
  • Provide lift and support
  • Able to slightly pull away from the shoulder, but feels like it is pulling back into place.
• Wires and cups
  • Wires sit against ribcage
  • Fully encase bust tissue
  • Should sit behind bust tissue under the arm
  • Cups enclose fully (no gapping or overspilling)
• Centre front
  • Sits flat against the ribcage
  • Positioned in the crease of the bust

If your size is not available, you can always try your sister size. This is when you can go up a size on the underband and down a size on cups, or the other way round - for example, a 34C can also be a 36B or a 32D.
