Siobhan has worked in the retail industry for 18 years, with the last 9 years being at Boux Avenue Head Office, and is currently the Senior Garment Technologist for the brand. The role includes working closely with the design and buying team at the beginning of the process to ensure the initial design concept and vision is possible to recreate from a technical side. Once the design has been signed off, Siobhan ensures that the garment fits and is graded correctly for all sizes. This involves fitting weekly on multiple size models. Whilst also ensuring that the fabrics and components used are fit for purpose through testing, and therefore working with suppliers to improve quality as and when needed. No product is shipped to Boux Avenue’s warehouse without Siobhan’s team approving a gold seal (a garment that is first off the production line), and ensuring all testing is approved. Once stock does arrive in the warehouse, Siobhan manages the QC team there, who check the stock is what has been previously approved before it is allocated to stores and the e-commerce site - ensuring that all of Boux Avenue products are to a high standard. To help find ways to improve the product, at the end of each season Siobhan and her team will review the quality of the product based on sales and customer feedback so they can ensure the next collection is of the highest of quality standards. An ongoing project that Boux Avenue is strongly behind with the help of Siobhan and other team members within the business is to continue to move the brand forwards with their sustainability journey - with the brand currently working with Better Cotton Initative and using mixed recycled fibres in some products, but there is much more planned on the way.
