HOW TO FIND THE BEST BIKINI FIT

As we head into another season of sun, and swimwear, many of us can feel worried about finding a flattering fit when faced with brands that offer one-size-fits-all or bikinis simply tagged as small to large. At Boux Avenue we spend many, many hours designing and fitting our cup-sized swimwear to ensure that you never have to suffer the indignities of unwanted underboob, too-tight elastic, and drawstring disasters. Allow us to guide you through our cup-size bikinis in underwired styles, plus unstructured bikinis in no less than seven dress sizes - many with further adjustable features, too.

All of our bikini sets are buyable as separates - so you can easily get the perfect fit with different-sized bikini bottoms and tops. Our top tips and style picks will help you get the right fit today in what will become your new favourite bikini tops and bottoms.

HOW SHOULD A BIKINI TOP FIT?

Bikini tops should fit just as well as a bra does, providing secure support and comfort. As most of our bikini tops are bra-sized, we recommend measuring your bra size - to guarantee the best fit.

Cups should sit flush to the skin and the supportive straps should be comfortably snug without digging in. Even when you opt for a non-cup-sized bikini top, such as triangle bikinis, opt for those that cater for your cup size by being adjustable.

For a bikini top that fits just like a bra opt for the Aruba balconette bikini top, it has flattering ruched cups with subtle padding for natural-looking lift. Adjustable straps keep you comfortable and supported, and avoid that stretched-out look that sees too many bikinis retired early.

For a bikini that boosts cleavage without padding, our Amalfi balconette bikini top is an uncontested winner. Underwired for extra support from a B cup to a G cup, as well as wide adjustable straps for comfortable support.  The ruched adjustable cups mean you can always get your perfect fit, even if you find your boobs are slightly different sizes.

Bandeau bikini styles typically aren’t cup-sized, but our Paxos bandeau bikini top comes in a generous 6-18 dress size range to help you secure the best fit for you. Bandeau bikini styles should always fit securely so make sure you can move around, without fear of the top slipping when searching for your perfect fit.

The Paxos is a lightly padded style which borrows beautifully from the Bohemian trends owning Summer’s style spotlight: cue ruffles, textured floral embroidery and a latticed front. Meanwhile, side boning gives it a secure fit that’s every bit as focused on structure as it is on style.

Whilst triangle bikinis aren’t as supportive as underwired bikini top styles, you can still find an excellent fit thanks to the adjustable cups on Boux Avenue’s triangle styles, plus they have different ways they can be styled. The Bondi triangle bikini top features a retro floral print that’s both nostalgic and trending now, with coverage you can customise thanks to adjustable ruching under its lined cups.

HOW SHOULD BIKINI BOTTOMS FIT?

Because all Boux bikinis come as separates, we’ve got you (and your bottom) truly covered with an ideal fit that’s not dictated by your bust size. Further, there’s no need to compromise when your favourite styles come from different matching sets.

You can find your perfect fit across a range of coverage styles thanks to comprehensive 6-18 sizing so that every bikini bottom sits just right - neither riding up (too loose) nor awkwardly digging in (too tight) - these are some of our favourites this season.

If you're interested in minimal coverage from your bikini bottoms, thong bikinis are for you. The Aruba bikini thong is a favourite for good reason. Its V front shape creates a flattering length that matches its illusory high-cut leg - and in versatile black, it matches with several of our most popular bikini tops, too.

The Sorrento Brazilian bikini bottoms have a similar shape, its V-front and high-cut leg balanced by only a little extra coverage at the back. The Sorrento high waist bikini briefs share the same bold matte colourways, but with fuller coverage and a 90s-inspired waistline.

Tie-side bikinis like our Bondi tie side Brazilian bikini bottoms do well to juggle the need for a snug fit to swim in the sea versus a more relaxed fit to adjust your coverage for tanning. These printed bikini bottoms further benefit from ruched fabric, so you can modify your modesty in the moment. You can also position the ties higher on your hips for a high-leg style bikini that will elongate your legs. Triangle styles are truly versatile.
