UNI OUTFITS: FRESHERS' WEEK 'FITS AND BEYOND

Uni Outfits

Starting or heading back to uni is an exciting time that - in our opinion - warrants some new ‘fits.

From lounge sets for every day, to fire dresses for freshers’ and cute pj sets to keep you warm in cold student houses, we have pulled together some of our fave pieces below.

CASUAL UNI OUTFITS: LOUNGEWEAR IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

Women’s loungewear may be widely popular now - we see tracksuits and joggers everywhere - but if anyone was at the forefront of this style, it was uni students. For years, loungewear and athleisure chic has been the main style across campuses!

Students were onto the trend before the rest of us - loungewear truly is a girl's best friend! Comfy, cosy, easy to throw on and, nowadays, it’s even super chic!

Whether you’re looking for pieces to wear for a full day of lectures and library sessions, something easy to pull on and lounge in when hungover or you just love the casual aesthetic - these are our picks for you.

The basis of any lounge outfit is a comfy seamless underwear set! Treat yourself to the Ribbed seamless bralette and matching seamless knickers in every gorgeous colour, so you have a flattering lingerie set for every day!

Seamless Underwear Set

If you are looking for a tracksuit to pull on in the morn after a big freshers’ night out, or just when you are too tired to think pre-9am lecture, then we have a couple of options!

Velour loungewear hasn’t gone anywhere, so elevate your lounge looks with the Embossed velour pants and matching Embossed velour hoodie! This luxe loungewear co-ord is the perfect way to make the ‘just rolled out of bed’ style look oh so glam.

Embossed Velour Tracksuit

Either pair this set with an oversized tee to nail the casual uni outfit vibes, or go for a cute tank top or vest like the Contour seamless crop top to contrast the oversized jogger fit!

Another sleek tracksuit to have in your library outfit rotation is the Wide leg sweat pant and Half-zip sweat top. We know the alcohol sweats can be real after a big night out, so get the Cut-away sweat tank top on as well for a cute option when the hoodie has to come off!

FRESHERS' OUTFITS FOR GOING OUT IN

Freshers’ week is a time to be meeting new people or, if you’re second or third year, to be reunited with your uni besties, and a lot of that involves going out as much as possible before the work starts piling up again!

Whether you are drinking or not, an evening out should always include a ‘fit that makes you feel fabulous!

You want to wear something that makes you feel confident and at ease! You can’t go wrong with jeans and a nice top! Luckily, we have plenty of ‘nice tops’, perfect for freshers’ nights out, from lingerie tops and corset tops to bodysuits - these will all be new faves for the whole uni year!

A seamless bodysuit is such a versatile piece to have in your uni wardrobe – they can be dressed down for every day, or dressed up for a night out!

Seamless High Neck Bodysuit

The seamless high neck bodysuit is so, so chic – pair it with a mini skirt or high waisted trousers for a sleek look for those evenings out away from the library!

Or, try the contour seamless thong bodysuit for when a high neck top may be a bit toooo sweaty in the club!

If crop tops are more your bag, then we have some more freshers’ outfit ideas for you! For the minimalist girls, the contour seamless keyhole bralette is a gorgeous choice. Style it under an oversized chiffon shirt for cocktails with the girls or wear it with your fave cargos or skirt on a big freshers’ night out!

Seamless Keyhole Bralette

For something a little lacier, we love a longline bra worn as a top! One of our faves is the Maie longline bra – perfect for nights out, and can be worn again and again styled so many ways!

Talking about going out outfits, we couldn’t forget dresses for freshers’ week and uni nights out, could we?!

We are loving bright colours and retro patterns when it comes to our bodycon dresses at the moment. The Luciana cross front dress and Elena ruched front dresses are both perfect dresses to debut on your return to uni!

THE MOST ESSENTIAL UNI OUTFITS: PYJAMAS & DRESSING GOWNS

If there is one clothing type you are going to spend most of your time in during your years at university, then it is going to be pyjama sets and dressing gowns

The staple of any students’ wardrobe is trusty pyjamas and an emotional support fluffy dressing gown, which will see you through every year of uni - trust us!

You want to have a few different pyjama options in your collection - long pyjamas, short pyjamas and cami sets and keep a few on rotation, so you’re not caught short when you inevitably forget to do your washing!

We love shorties in a bag - they come in so many cute prints and are just a super comfy and flattering style!

One of our fave new sets is the Pink check cotton shortie pyjamas! Even a freshers’ week hangover can be marginally improved by a pyjama set this cute!

For a long pyjama set, the Large heart pyjamas in a bag are a must-have! Perfect for slouching about your halls in, and cute enough to wear for breakfast with your new flatmates!

PJs in a Bag

Now, it’s time to talk dressing gowns - we are not exaggerating when we say your dressing gown will be one of the most important clothing items you take to uni!

It keeps you warm, it’s like a big hug and will be needed when you have to run outside ‘cause of halls fire alarms, or when you have to sleep in it cause uni houses are COLD.

Yeh, your dressing gown is going to go through a lot with you! So, make sure you choose a super fluffy one for some extra cosiness and comfort through freshers’ and beyond!

You can’t go wrong with an animal print dressing gown, which is why we love the Animal print fur midi dressing gown! Thick fluffy fur, hooded and has pockets? Perfect, perfect, PERFECT!

Another robe we love is the Heart print short dressing gown - there’s just something so chic about the black and pink design!

Like we said, it can get cold in student accommodation during winter, so as well as your pjs and dressing gown, it can be a good idea to also take some fluffy socks and slippers with you! Every little helps to keep the heating bills down and the cosiness up when you first move to uni!

These are just a few recommendations of freshers' outfits and other essential uni clothes! You’ll find plenty of other pieces across the site! Happy uni packing and have fun! Share your fave freshers’ ‘fits with us over on Insta using #myboux!
