A day in the life of a content creator

How I start my day...

I start my day with a coffee, I cannot wake up unless I hit myself with some caffeine! Then I make myself a healthy smoothie. I know this should be the other way around, but trust me I have some funny stories for when I tried to do it the proper way. Let’s put it that way…I’M NOT a morning person!

Then if my schedule isn’t too tight, I do some morning yoga. I love morning yoga. It makes me feel amazing for the day ahead. After that, I have breakfast and answer my emails. I usually time myself when answering emails and prioritise which ones to answer first. This way, I am not stuck answering emails all day. After an hour of emails I have a shower and get ready. Once a week I schedule a day in for full admin work such as emails and anything else that might need doing on my computer. It’s one of my favourite days as I get to give my skin and hair break, accompanied by lots of comfy clothes. Plus, the fact that I don’t have to get ready feels like a day off!

So, depending on the weather forecast, it will be different how I set up for the day in terms of shooting my content...

If it’s sunny, I try to shoot in the sun. That way I can play with the shadows and angles, which can create very beautiful, unique pictures.I usually wait until sunrise to do this, that way the sun isn’t as strong and gives a perfect glow to the image. This is of course on a perfect day full of sunshine. For the cloudy days...well I don’t know what I would do without my spotlight. I set up my spotlight either on the plain background or I set up a space; and I don’t know why, but I love shooting lingerie in my kitchen, it just gives more of a fun and retro vibe. The kitchen is one of my favourite places to shoot on a cloudy day.

I edit all my pictures on my phone. I use apps such as Facetune for sharpening and smoothing, Lightroom for changing the colours and lightness; then I use either Moldiv or VSCO for filters.
